Founded in 1954, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital (OMH) is a 74- bed acute care hospital providing a full-spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services. A Regional Cancer Center, (OMH) offers medical and radiation oncology in a single facility equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment and practicing the latest procedures. The hospital's Heart Care, Breast Care and Prostate Care centers offer complete diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services. OMH's Women's Health Services includes a birthing center, perinatology and neonatology services, childbirth and wellness education. Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital clinical services include 24-hour emergency care, 24-hour urgent care, surgery, sports medicine, rehabilitation, home health care, adult day care, hospice, and outpatient services ranging from gastroenterology to plastic surgery. The hospital also administers a community education program, wellness programs, speakers bureau and a 24-hour Nurse-On-Line physician referral and health information service. Adults and adolescents from throughout Wisconsin have received treatment for alcohol and drug abuse at the hospital's Lawrence Center.
Aurora Health Care Hospital, a new 593,000-square-foot facility, opening in late 2009 at the Pabst Farms development at I-94 and State Highway 67, will feature 110 patient rooms, all of them private and each with a full bathroom. The patient rooms are expected to feature home-like furnishings, individual temperature controls, warm colors and natural wood trim. The 53-acre campus will also become a new home for the physicians and staff of Aurora Wilkinson Medical Clinic in an attached 180,000-square-foot facility. The Aurora Wilkinson Medical Center also will feature soft, indirect lighting, family lounges, resource libraries, nurse stations designed to encourage interaction between patients and caregivers, and an easy-to-navigate floor plan that promotes privacy by separating patient hallways from those used by the public. Services at the clinic include primary care, physical specialties, occupational health, laboratory, radiology, sports medicine and a pharmacy. The hospital campus will feature extensive landscaping and include a "healing garden," providing a tranquil retreat for patients, family members and staff. A paved walking path will ring the campus.
Set on 50 acres of woods and lakefront, Rogers Memorial Hospital offers inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care services for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. Tracing its roots to 1908, the hospital today is in the vanguard of experimental therapies, using art, music, movement and recreation to treat patients suffering from emotional trauma, drug addiction and a variety of disorders. In 2000, the hospital extended its inpatient services by acquiring an 80-bed facility in Milwaukee.
Oconomowoc Residential Programs (ORP) is the parent organization of a group of human service agencies providing specialized programs throughout Wisconsin and Indiana for the developmentally disabled, mentally ill and those in need of supportive living services. Under the ORP umbrella are the Oconomowoc Developmental Training Center; Homes for Independent Living of Wisconsin; Paragon Industries of Wisconsin; Prader-Willi Homes of Oconomowoc; Indiana Development Training Center; and The Paragon Store.
Assisted living and independent residential facilities in Oconomowoc are: American Senior Living Center, Pleasant View, Shorehaven Tower, Wilkinson Woods, Wilkinson Manor, Cedar Ridge Foundation, Community Retirement Living and Lake Terrace Apartments. Dousman is home to Three Pillars Senior Living Communities. Oconomowoc area residents also receive medical care from numerous physicians, chiropractors, massage therapists, dentists, optometrists and mental health professionals working in private practices.
