Drew Harrison of the critically acclaimed Beatles tribute band The Sun Kings, presents an emotionally-charged tribute of the life and musical career of John Lennon on the OAC’s Main Stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

Told through songs, stories, and images from The Beatles through the final recordings of his life, “In the Spirit of Lennon” celebrates Lennon’s music, while capturing the intensity that he brought to The Beatles.

Gifted with a natural, effortless Lennon voice, Harrison has been performing John’s songs and telling the stories and anecdotes that go along with them for well over a decade. Going beyond sounding just like Lennon, Harrison captures the intensity that the beloved recording artist brought to The Beatles’ music, as well as his own.

“I have been a huge fan of Lennon since I was a kid. He was a gifted artist, poet, and genius philosopher. He knew what he wanted to do, and I wanted to be just like him,” explained Harrison. “He was always so passionate in everything he did. This show will be dramatic and visceral, just like his music.”

As a solo artist, the singer-songwriter has performed across the US, Europe, and South America, and has opened for elite artists as such as Richard Thompson, Lyle Lovett, and Steve Miller.

“I love this show because it’s the journey of John Lennon – from when he was part of The Beatles to when he knew he wanted to do other things in his life. There’s a beginning and there’s an end, and it’s all told through his words,” added Harrison.

Don’t miss this intensely personal evening, as Drew Harrison brings to life the career of one of the best loved and most intriguing artists of our time. For more information about “In the Spirit of Lennon,” visit www.thesunkings.com and www.drewharrison.com.
