Milwaukee-based band Tweed brings blues and soul to the OAC’s stage

Oconomowoc, Wisconsin – With lead singer Gervis Myles, Milwaukee –based band Tweed promises to get the audience movin' and groovin’ at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 on the Oconomowoc Center’s Main Stage.

The five-piece band offers dynamic, energetic and entertaining original soul-blues and funk music sprinkled with subtle tinges of jazz, and select covers that pay homage to the majesty of the soul and blues masters harkening back to the 60s and 70s. Strong showmanship coupled with virtuoso playing and songwriting has wowed audiences across the United States and Europe.

Tweed has performed in many of the major blues and music festivals including Milwaukee’s Summerfest, Netherland’s Southern Bluesnight, Garvin Gate, Smokin and Steel, and legendary venues like BB Kings in NYC, House Of Blues and Buddy Guys in Chicago, and Madam's Organ in Washington DC.

Band members include Eric Madunic on bass guitar and vocals, Andrew Spadafora on sax and keyboard, Dave Schoepke on drums, Randy Komberec on guitar and vocals, and Gervis Myles, lead vocals.

Tweed released their latest CD "Love Strong" in March 2018, dedicating it to original band member Joseph "Smokey" Holman. The band boasts five Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) wins since 2012 for the band and its members.

“Gervis always says that we ‘play world music with Milwaukee style.’ All of us come from different backgrounds musically, but it ends up being a big melting pot of sound,” explained Madunic. “We’re not just a band of musicians, we’re a group of friends that love each other like brothers, and that translates beautifully on stage because we’re doing what we love to do together.”

Tweed is currently on their second European tour, playing 10 concerts in 12 days.

“We’re so excited and can’t wait to perform on the Oconomowoc Arts Center stage. This will be our first concert after returning from our European tour and we’re really looking forward to it,” Madunic added.
