President, Waukesha Country Technical College
Kaylen has spent 30 years in executive and leadership roles within the Wisconsin Technical College System. She joined WCTC as Vice President of Administrative Services in 2008, was named Executive Vice President in 2010 and became President in 2015. Before joining WCTC, Kaylen served as Vice President of Administrative and Student Support Services at Blackhawk Technical College. Kaylen holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration in Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a member of the prestigious academic honor society of Phi Beta Kappa – Alpha Chapter of Wisconsin.
Dr. Stephen Schmid
Intern Dean, UWM – Waukesha Campus
Dr. Stephen E. Schmid is the Interim Dean for the College of General Studies, which includes both the UWM at Waukesha and UWM at Washington County campuses. Prior to this, he was campus administrator for the Waukesha campus and the Southeast Regional Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of the UW Colleges.
He has served on numerous teams engaged in the restructuring of the UW Colleges’ 13 campuses into its current four-region model. In the current restructuring process, he is a member of a half dozen working groups at both UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee. Dr. Schmid has a doctoral degree in philosophy from UW-Madison.
Campus Manager, Ottawa University
Brian Patterson has worked in the higher education industry for the past 15 years, serving the last five and a half as the Campus Manager for Ottawa University’s Wisconsin site in Brookfield. He is a two-time graduate of Ottawa University, earning a BA in 2004 and MBA in 2010. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the WI Chapter of the Ottawa University Alumni Association and is also a member of Toastmasters International.
