The Oconomowoc Christian Science church is one of the worldwide branches of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. There is a special emphasis on healing through prayer, and at the 10:00 AM Sunday worship services you’ll find a friendly greeting, music, singing, prayer, and a sermon. The sermon is composed of readings from the Bible and from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
Weekly Wednesday evening meetings at 7:30 PM are similar to the Sunday services, with the added element of hearing fellow attendees share insights, experiences, and healings they've had as a result of their prayers and study of Christian Science.
There is also a Christian Science Reading Room inside the church open Monday from 12:30 - 4:30 PM—a public bookstore that’s open to anyone exploring spiritual answers to life’s many questions and problems.
Besides providing a comfortable atmosphere for quiet reading and private reflection, there’s also a retail sales area featuring Bibles, Bible references, Science and Health, the Christian Science Monitor, Journal and Sentinel, other audio and video resources, and complimentary Internet access.
